Presidential guards from the Special Forces Command (SFC) openly check riffles used in the ceremonial police parade.
The ceremonial parade at the International Conference Centre was this afternoon disrupted by an impromptu search by members of the Special Forces Command (SFC).

The open checkup came just moments before President Yoweri Museveni arrived at the Kampala International Conference Centre for the Annual State of the Nation Address.

The examination happened moments after the Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola arrived at the Conference Center and received a Guard of Honor from the parade. It, however, came as a shock to both parade commanders and visitors.

In a move that seemed abrupt, the advance party to President Yoweri Museveni moved into the parade and inspected all the ceremonial rifles that were in possession of the police jazz band parade. They were all required to open the safe of their rifles to ensure that there are no bullets.

A member of the inner circle security detail of the president cautioned our camera-person against taking pictures of the moment but said that the check was for everyone's safety.
