Primary School Headmaster, Pastor, Nursery Director Accused of Raping Kids in Luwero

The father of the child explains that Headmaster Ssenyondo allegedly asked her daughter to take a textbook to the library before he followed her there and forcefully performed a sexual act with her.

Police in Nakaseke are hunting for the headteacher of Maranatha Primary School for allegedly defiling a P7 pupil.

Ramathan Ssenyondo aged 50 years a headteacher of Maranatha Primary School located in Kiwoko town council is wanted by the Police for allegedly defiling a Primary Seven pupil aged 15 years.

The parents of the pupil allege that on 8th May this year, Ssenyondo performed a sexual act on their daughter in the school library.

The father of the child explains that Ssenyondo allegedly asked his daughter to take a textbook to the library before he followed her there and forcefully performed a sexual act on her.

He adds that the victim notified the senior woman about the matter but she instead advised her not to reveal what had happened to any other person.

The father says that they learnt about the incident when the child returned to pick up fees and they reported the matter to Kiwoko Police Station demanding for the arrest the headteacher.

Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson says that the Police registered the complaint on 15th May this year and the victim was examined at Nakaseke hospital.

Ssemwogerere adds that Ssenyondo is on run but Police is hunting for him and they have asked the District Chief Administrative Officer to help them to trace his whereabouts.

Allan Mayanja Ssebunya the Nakaseke Central Member of Parliament has condemned what he called rampant cases of defilement against girls and asked Police to do whatever they can to ensure that the suspect is apprehended.

Mayanja says that the victim has since stopped studying because she is under treatment and fears victimization.

Moses Muyambi, the Nakaseke Deputy Resident District Commissioner said he is aware of the case and said also tasked the Police to ensure that the suspect is prosecuted.

Another family in Luwero is also crying for justice after Police released on bond Mohammed Kivumbi, the Director of Vision Nursery and Primary School in Busula trading center . Kivumbi is accused of defiling a primary seven pupil at his school.

The Office Director of Public Prosecution has since ordered the file to be recalled for review to establish whether the case was handled fairly or not before another decision is made.

A family in Nakasongola district is also crying out for justice after a pastor allegedly defiled and impregnated their daughter. 

The Pastor on run is Henry Bogere Bisoboka from Rock of Salvation and Healing Ministries at Kageri village in Wabinyonyi sub-county.

According to the Police crime report, there was an increase in cases of defilement from 14,134 cases in 2020 to 14,436 reported cases in 2021.
