The Principal Assistant Secretary of Moyo District Local Government, Geoffrey Vuchiri is on the spot light for allegedly threatening violence and malicious damage to property. Vuchiri is also the Programs Officer for the Development Response to Displacement Impact Program-DRDIP.

He reportedly committed the offense in a meeting convened by the Moyo District Executive on Monday to address complaints from local contractors. During the meeting, James Idraku Onyango, the Chairperson of the Local Contractor's Association raised dissatisfaction about the procurement processes and procedures relating to the projects under the Development Response to Displacement Impact Program.

He reportedly handed over a resolution on behalf of the contractors calling for the removal of Vuchiri from the Program prompting the officer to lose his cool. According to Onyango, Vuchiri reportedly picked up a chair to hit Onyango but was restrained by the LC V Chairperson and other members.
