Professor Venansius Baryamureeba this morning launched his twelve point presidential manifesto.
Prof. Baryamureeba is the first presidential aspirant to unveil his manifesto ahead of the 2016 general elections. This launch comes ahead of his nomination slated for October 5th next week.
If elected, Prof Baryamureeba says he insist all serving army officers who wish to participate in politics must first retire from the army. This is among the 12 issues his manifesto tackles.
Prof Baryamureeba says he will also ensure Ugandans have access to quality education no matter their background. He intends to achieve this through granting educational loans and increasing the job opportunities available.
Baryamureeba says he will place emphasis on infrastructural development, industrialization, structural and institutional changes. Some of the changes his manifesto proposes include the formation agricultural development bank and the re-instatement of the cooperatives.
The manifesto also provides for a national budget framework for the year 2016/2017 that he says will be a guide for ministries, Departments and Agencies in his government to review to suit the needs of Uganda.
//Cue in: ‘I draw my…
Cue out: …and new ideas.\'//
Baryamureeba\'s manifesto is based on the Uganda Vision 2040 and the National Development Plans. He says these plans only need to be effectively implemented if Uganda is to be transformed from a peasant to modern country.
Baryamureeba\'s 12 issue manifesto was unveiled at City Royale Hotel in Bugolobi Kampala this morning.
