A pupil at Babungi Nursery and Primary School in Bundibugyo District has died, and others were left injured in a road crash. The officer in charge of Traffic Bundibugyo Station, Benon Nampala, identified the deceased as Jesca Natukunda, aged 3 years, a pupil in nursery. She says that the school van was carrying 32 pupils at the time of the accident.
Nampala attributed the accident to mechanical failure in the brakes. She also said that the driver of the van fled.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at Kilembe Mines, Mbarara regional general hospital, Nyahuka and Busaru Health Centre IIIs.
