Dozens of people thronged Jinja District
headquarters on Tuesday to secure movement permits from the office of the
Resident District Commissioner as directed by the president.
Following the ban on both the public and
private means of transport as part of the Corona Virus pandemic preventive
measures, president, Yoweri Museveni directed those with emergencies to secure
movement permits from Resident District Commissioners in their respective
On Tuesday, dozens of people mainly care givers
stormed the office of Jinja Resident District Commissioner, Eric Sakwa to
secure movement permits, saying they need to ferry their loved ones to Health
facilities for treatment.
Some of the residents complained of congestion,
which they comprises the recommended social distancing to stop the spread of
