Allegedly, while Twizemana was grazing cattle, he called his two children, aged 2 and 6, to leave their mother, Veneranda Baresirente, 40, who was digging, and join him where he was grazing cattle. After the act, he sent them back to their mother.
A 47-year-old Rwandan national is in serious trouble for allegedly defiling his six-year-old biological daughter.
Fosta Twizemana, a herdsman in Kayebe village, Kigara parish, Kamwezi Sub County, Rukiga district, is accused of defiling the minor on July 26, 2024.
Allegedly, while Twizemana was grazing cattle, he called his two children, aged 2 and 6, to leave their mother, Veneranda Baresirente, 40, who was digging, and join him where he was grazing cattle. After the act, he sent them back to their mother.
As they were returning from the garden, Baresirente noticed that the victim was having difficulty walking.
Upon inquiry, the victim revealed that she had been defiled by her father. Baresirente immediately rushed to Kamwezi police station to report the matter after she observed blood oozing from the victim’s private parts. Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that Twizemana went into hiding but was arrested on Sunday and taken to Rukiga police station.
Maate described the act as barbaric and uncultured, expressing his shock that a parent, who is supposed to protect a child, could commit such an act.
Maate added that the suspect would be brought to court to face charges once the investigations are complete.
