Rwanda Police FC is set to play friendly matches with URC FC and KCCA FCin preparations of the Rwandan top league this year. Sam Simbwa, the head coach of Rwanda Police FC says the games will be played this weekend ahead of the new season.
Simbwa says that he has already made arrangements with the Ugandan clubs and is only waiting for official invitations. The one time coach of Rwanda’s Atraco FC says the matches will help him to learn more about players in his new club. Simbwa was recruited to help the Police team after management sacked Serbian coach Goran Kopunovic.
The Serbian who managed the club for threes took them to two Peace Cup finals, a first appearance in the Caf Confederation Cup. He also helped the club finish third in three seasons in a row. The New 2013/14 season for the National football league Kicks off on September 21.
