SC Victoria University reclaim FUFA Super League top spot

Uganda Cup holders SC Victoria University have returned to top of the table after a 1-all draw against SC Villa in a FUFA Super League game played at the Nakivubo Stadium this evening.

Uganda Cup holders SC Victoria University have returned to top of the table after a 1-all draw against SC Villa in a FUFA Super League game played at the Nakivubo Stadium this evening.

 

The draw pushed the ‘Joggos’ to 26 points, but with a superior goal difference than Kiira Young FC.

 

Yudah Mugalu netted early in the 12th minute for SC Villa to send the fans wild. In-form goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan who has recently earned a recall to the national team was at hand to stop a penalty by SC Villa’s Ronald Muganga later in the second half.

 

Ex-Cranes midfielder Mike Sserumaga picked the equalizer with a well taken free kick to level the score on 81 minutes.

 

In the other games played defending champions KCCA FC needed a Brian Majwega lone goal to take maximum points against visiting Bidco FC at the Lugogo Stadium, while army side Simba picked a 2-1 win away to CRO FC in Mbale.

 

 Soana FC were also back to winning ways with with a 2-0 victory over Entebbe Young. Bright Aguma’s strike was enough to give Express FC a 1-0 win over Proline FC at their Wankulukuku Stadium.
