SC Villa holds Vipers in Uganda Cup Quarter final

Sports Club has held Vipers SC to a one-all draw in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende. Ronald Ssekiganda’s late goal helped SC Villa to level the first tie cancelling Lawrence Tezikya’s goal.

 

Viper SC started a better side with players Ibrahim Orit, Ceaser Manzoki, Yunus Ssentamu piling pressure on Villa’s defence but failed to score in halftime. 

The hosts, Vipers got their goal in the 78th minute through Lawrence Tezikya after heading Aziz Kayondo’s cross.

Vipers head coach, Fred Kajoba said that he was not pleased with the results. He, however, said that he is hopeful that his side will overturn the result in the return leg. 

"I’m not happy for the draw against SC Villa Jogoo but we shall overturn the results in the return leg and qualify for the semifinals," Kajoba said. The two teams will meet on 2 June 2021, for the return leg at the Military Barracks stadium in Bombo.
