Security has cordoned off Kyazanga Health Center IV in Lwengo
district following reports about the admission of a suspected member of the
notorious criminal gang at the facility. The 26-year-old Joseph Ssenyonga was dropped at the facility on Tuesday
morning following a mob attack.

says some mob members dropped the suspect from Kyazanga trading center after
foiling his attack on residents in the area. He claimed that the suspect who is
still in a coma was in bad shape when he arrived at the facility.
On Tuesday afternoon, a team of plain-clothed and anti-riot
police sealed on the male ward at the health center where the suspect is
admitted. Francis Mulindwa, a resident of Malongo narrates that the village
defense team intercepted the suspect as they hunted for criminals gangs causing
mayhem in the area.
He says that the defense team found the suspect walking at night
with a machete while dressed in military-like trousers and could not explain
his movements.

Village says that the suspect is a known resident of their area and has been on
their wanted list of habitual criminals terrorizing the area. He says that there is a possibility that the suspect is among
the criminal gangs, which have been hacking people in the sub-region in recent
days.

Francis Okongo, the Lwengo District Police
Commander confirms that they have taken over the management of the suspect who
he says will help in the ongoing investigation into the recent spate of
killings in the area.
He says that they will interrogate the suspect as
soon he regains consciousness. Police is currently holding 69 suspects in
different detention centers in relation to the murder of at least 29 in Greater
Masaka region in a space of six weeks.
While addressing a regional security meeting in
Lwengo on Monday, the Minister of Internal Affairs General, David Muhoozi noted
that their preliminary assessments have linked the killings to terrorism; one
of the leads, security is investigating.
