Security Deploys Heavily As Kyagulanyi Returns to Kamwokya

More than 50 NUP supporters have gathered at the party’s offices to welcome him.
Security has deployed heavily in Kamwokya around the National Unity Platform-NUP offices where presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi is expected.

Kyagulanyi was granted bail on Friday by the Iganga Magistrate Court following his arrest on Wednesday in Luuka district.

Security personnel from the Field Force Unit-FFU have deployed on the roadside about 200 meters from the NUP offices. More than ten Military Police officers have also camped about half a kilometre away from NUP offices.

More than 50 NUP supporters have converged at the premises donning red T-shirts with Kyagulanyi's name inscribed on them.

Official figures indicate that 49 people died in this week's protests, the majority of whom from gun-related injuries. Hundreds are still nursing injuries in different hospitals across the country.

Kyagulanyi whose campaign trail was interrupted after he was arrested is expected to announce him next move of action.
