Security Guard in Bushenyi Arrested for Impersonating UPDF Soldiers

Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime, says that Agaba has been wanted by police since the COVID-19 surveillance team reported him to police about his behaviour and mistreatment.

Police in Bushenyi has arrested a 32-year-old man for impersonation.

Ibrahim Agaba a security guard attached to Agri Securiko Company was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly impersonating Uganda Peoples Defense Forces- UPDF soldiers following a tip-off from residents.



Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime, says that Agaba has been wanted by police since the COVID-19 surveillance team reported him to police about his behavior and mistreatment. 

He says that they have been following him up until Tuesday night when he was apprehended by police on Patrol along Basajjabala Street closing businesses dealing in food. 

Tumusiime says the suspect has been obtaining money by false pretense from traders claiming he is a UPDF soldier enforcing the curfew.

According to Tumusiime, Agaba was found in possession of an army uniform.
