A private security guard working with SGA on Wednesday shot to death a driver on suspicion of having an affair with his wife.

Adaca Sabina alias Francis Alele was a driver for Khan Logistics company and a resident of Kisalosalo, Kyebando Parish, Kawempe Division, in Kampala.

Sabina, according to residents' accounts to the police was shot to death on Wednesday night in one of the corridors of Kisalosalo by Achol.   Achol shot Sabina in the chest targeting the heart and fled with the rifle.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, said scene of crime officers from Kira Road police collected the possible exhibits and also took Sabina’s body to the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) morgue at Mulago for a postmortem.

Owoyesigyire confirmed that infidelity has been cited in several accounts given by the locals but that cannot be conclusive as a motive until the suspect is apprehended to record a statement in which he will perhaps offer the reasons for his act.

“It has been alleged that Mr. Adaca Sabina was involved in extramarital affairs, which may have contributed to this unfortunate incident. However, it is imperative to allow the ongoing investigation by the authorities to uncover all relevant facts and motives surrounding this heinous crime,” Owoyesigyire said.

Police have urged anyone with information related to this incident to present it to detectives. Sabina’s murder is part of the four killings recorded in Kampala Metropolitan on Eid Al-Fitr celebrations.

Brian Maniriho, a resident of Kifumbira zone, in Kamwokya, was killed by unknown people at Kitante junction, on Kira Road, in Kampala. Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson said Maniriho was aged 19 and a hawker.

“It's alleged that the deceased was found lying on the pavement in a pool of blood. He is suspected to have been beaten up by a mob for unknown reasons. The body was observed to be having fresh bruises and cuts on the head,” Onyango said.

Onyango said a team of homicide detectives from Kira Road Police Division visited and documented the scene before Maniriho’s body was taken to KCCA mortuary for postmortem examination.

Two other unidentified men were killed in Old Kampala and Kasangati. The Old Kampala incident occurred at Kasubi when one of the neighbors who allegedly heard thugs breaking into his house made an alarm that attracted the neighbors who lynched one of the suspects.

Onyango explained that a group of thugs gained access to someone's residence whose names have been withheld, by climbing the wall fence and they entered the house through the ceiling. The house occupants noticed that thugs were inside the house and raised an alarm which forced the thugs to take off.

According to Onyango, the residents gathered around the tree to plan the next course of action since criminals were becoming too many in the area.

“What gave him away, he couldn't control his cough. When he was caught the residents noticed someone coughing up in the tree and he was told to descend. The residents started beating him until he was unconscious that is when they called the Police. Police visited the scene and rushed the suspect to Mulago Hospital where he was pronounced dead,” Onyango said.

In Kasangati, a murder happened at Masooli village. Police say the deceased was an unidentified man aged around 32 years.

Police suspect that the deceased was a bodaboda rider since there was a motorcycle UFN 572Y found abandoned nearby.
