The police's marine unit and the Fisheries Protection Unit-FPU have been deployed along the Lake Kyoga shoreline in Buyende district, as the Kyabazinga celebrates his 10th coronation anniversary.
On Friday, Gabula Nadiope will appear with his queen, Jovia Mutesi, who will share the first open meal with members of the general public. This ritual showcases motherly love and officially kicks off Mutesi's performance of her royal duties to all the subjects in Busoga Kingdom.

Bukungu landing site is a business hub, linking the Busoga sub-region to Teso via Bukungu ferry, attracting hundreds of people throughout the day.
The Busoga North Police Spokesperson, Michael Kasadha says that they have intensified security aimed at moping out any criminal-related activities. Kasadha argues that it is the police's core mandate to secure both people and their property at all times, therefore, manning the maritime spaces during such celebrations is key.
Kasadha further says that they have been collaborating with landing site chairpersons to keep track of all the dwellers along the Lake Kyoga shoreline as a means of containing the infiltration of criminals.
Kasadha also notes that after the ceremony, there is a boat race competition in honour of the Kyabazinga. He says that five marine police divers have been dispatched to ensure the safety of all participants in this sport.
Andrew Ntange, the Busoga kingdom's spokesperson says that they have accomplished so much in the last 10 years worth celebration.
Ntange notes that their achievements range from fostering unity amongst the different chiefdoms to promoting social services delivery throughout Busoga kingdom.
Ntange also prides on having the queen on board, saying that she signifies the wholistic nature of a progressive kingdom, roaring on for a prosperous future ahead.
