Security Stepped Up as Cattle Rustlers Strike

Security in Katakwi and Amuri districts has been stepped up following resumption in cattle rustling activities.

Suspected Karimjong warriors have launched fresh raids on Kraals in Katakwi and Amuria raising panic in the pastoral communities.

Capt Franco Elyanu, The commander of the Teso based operations code named; Restore Hope, says the Mobile Police Patrol Unit have been deployed along the boundary between Katakwi, and Amuria.

Captain Elianu explains that the move is intended to support the Anti stock Theft Unit and UPDF to fight insecurity along the boundary.

General Aronda Nyakairima, The Chief of Defense Forces, has also been in the region where he met with the security chiefs and local leaders in Katakwi,Napaka, Amuria and Moroto.
