There is heavy security presence in Kaabong District ahead of Thursday’s
election of the Woman Member of Parliament.
At least 500 personnel of the Police Field Force Unit have been deployed to
Kaabong to back up the regular police and prisons manpower in the two regions
of Mt. Moroto and Kidepo.
The Resident District Commissioner, RDC Kaabong, John Rex Achilla says they are
not taking any chances.

Two candidates are vying for the Kaabong Woman MP race after Rose Lilly Akello
resigned to represent newly created Karenga District. They include the NRM’s
Christine Tubo and FDC’s Judith Adyaka.
The Kidepo Regional Police Commander, Stephen Onencan said police is prepared
to take charge of security during the elections and are working with other security
agencies to ensure the elections are conducted smoothly.

Kikuube district that was carved out of Hoima and became operational in July
