Sheema Authorities Close Kigarama Seed School

A team of officials led by the Sheema Resident District Commissioner, Frank Kyereere stormed the school premises on Wednesday and ordered teachers and students to vacate the premises.

Sheema district authorities have closed Kigarama Seed School for allegedly operating illegally.  

A team of officials led by the Sheema Resident District Commissioner, Frank Kyereere stormed the school premises on Wednesday and ordered teachers and students to vacate the premises.

Kyereere ordered the head teacher to refund the money paid by students to allow them enroll in other schools.  

Esau Nshabiirwe, the Sheema District Education Officer explained that they closed the school due to lack of quality classrooms and teachers.

Kyereere also explains that government embarked on the construction of a seed school in Kigarama Sub County, which is still underway. 

He however, says unidentified people started another school near the government buildings and named it Kigarama seed school.    

Jolly Mushabe, a parent blames the authorities for poor monitoring, which let the school operate for an entire year.
