But Aggrey Okum, the Rukiga District Police Commander says that the agents were inciting violence during curfew hours. He however decline to explain further.

Okum also denied claims that the meeting that was held at the sub-county headquarters was aimed at rigging in favour of NRM candidate. He says that the meeting was called to discuss security deployment ahead of the local council government elections.

Rebecca Mbabazi, the Rukiga District Returning Officer says that she is not aware of Kwarikunda’s accusations. She says that the exercise is still peaceful despite delays in the start of voting.
