The vehicle in which journalists were traveling to Masaka plunged into a swamp
Six Journalists have sustained injuries following an accident at Kyoja swamp along Masaka- Mbarara road in Lwengo district this afternoon.
The survivors have been identified as Timothy Sibasi (WBS TV) Jackson Onyango (UBC TV), Joseph Sabiiti (NBS TV) Yusuf Mabingo (Record TV) and Dan Lugemwa (WBS). Also in the same vehicle was Moses Namayo(NBS TV) and Phillip Aguta (UBC TV).

The speeding Toyota Prado in which the group was traveling is reported to have lost control, swerved off the road and plunged into the swamp.
Masaka Regional Traffic Police Commander James Tibaijuka says that all the six Journalists and the driver were safely retrieved from the swamp. They sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.
President Museveni proceeded to Kyesiga in Bukoto Central and Luvule in Bukoto East constituencies for his scheduled campaign rallies within greater Masaka region.
Earlier, President Museveni pledged to improve the road network in the area by procuring more road equipment for the districts.
