Police has released the body of Charles Ingabire a Rwandan Journalist murdered In Kampala on November 30 to other Rwandan Asylum seekers for burial.
The body of murdered Rwandan journalist Charles Ingabire has been released to friends for burial.
Ingabire 32, the editor of an online publication, Inynyeri News, was gunned down on the night of November 30th at Makies 2 Bar in Bukesa, Kampala.
Ibn Ssenkumbi, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network on Saturday that the body was released from the mortuary in Mulago hospital and handed over to friends. Ssenkumbi says it was released on Friday but they did not have the means to take it as they were still organizing where to bury him.
Marcel Hirari, another Rwandan refugee says Ingabire would be buried today in Lusaze Public Cemetery in Lubaga division.
Unconfirmed reports say Ingabire had about five trusted friends who his assassins might have used to lure him to Makies 2 bar where he was murdered. URN could not verify these claims but Ssenkumbi says police is still looking for the assailants.
Two people are under police custody at Old Kampala police station in connection with the murder. He identified the two as Onzima David, a security Guard and Robbinah Nabunnya, a waitress at Makies 2 Bar.
