The donation to as announced during a fundraising drive held at Soroti Sports Ground on Saturday. Part of it; 20 million Shillings was paid in cash.

He also sold a bull to a Thailand-based national, Philips Wan at a cost of shillings 200 million Shillings during the event.About 800 million Shillings was realized during the fundraise drive.
Museveni urged the people of Teso sub region to work hard hard work and engage in proper agricultural production to avoid repeat of famine that ravaged the region some months back.
Soroti Anglican Diocese needs about Three billion Shillings to finance the construction of a new administration headquarters at St. Peters Church of Uganda in Soroti town.Built in mid 1950, St. Peters Church of Uganda is the headquarters of Soroti Diocese covering about five districts including Soroti, Kaberamaido, Serere, Katakwi and Amuria.
Captain Mike Mukula, the chairperson of fundraising drive applauded President Museveni for his contribution describing it as cardinal. Mukula, also the former Soroti municipality Member of Parliament says the available collections will kick-start construction work on the new site.
Rev. Williams Erwau, Soroti Diocese Bishop urged Christians to continue donating towards the construction of the new structure. He says the house of the Lord can only be built with a collective effort from all the Christians.
He says the construction of the new administration headquarters shall be conducted in phases depending on the available funds.
Currently the structure housing the Soroti Diocesan headquarters dilapidated and too small to host the growing number of parishioners. It also has no provision for office space.
