Soroti University Prof. Collapses to Death

Soroti University is mourning the passing of Associate Prof. Dr. Thomas Aisu Ongodia. The University Spokesperson, Juma Hassan Nyene, says Prof. Ongondia collapsed and died during the senate meeting this morning.

"Prof. Thomas Aisu came to the University this morning driving himself. He rushed to attend a meeting that certainly kicked off at around 10:00am. He even contributed during the meeting.

He later sat down and then all over the sudden he collapsed," Nyene told our reporter. According to Nyene, Prof. Ongodia didn't complain of any illness before his demise. 

He says Prof. Ongodia was one of the newly appointed Health science senior lecturers. Prof. Ongodia's body has been handed over to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital en-route to Mulago National Referral hospital for postmodern. 

Prof. Robert Ikoja Odongo, the Vice Chancellor Soroti University has not yet commented as he couldn't be reached on his mobile phone.

By the time of filing this story, staff at the university was still trying to unravel the mystery surrounding Prof. Ongodia's death. The late Ongodia hails from the neighboring Kumi district.
