Ssebo FM station manager Herbert Muyima says the couple had long had misunderstandings in their relationship.
He says the two first had a quarrel on Monday evening at their home in Buwenge Mpya in Kamuli town council.
During the quarrel Godfrey Kyemba was hit by his girlfriend on the head at 7pm, he was then rushed to Kamuli hospital for treatment.
Christopher Kalumula, one of the eyewitnesses, says after receiving treatment, he later returned and sat in Parona Guest House and Bar with his friends in Buwenge Mpya Kamuli town council where Lillian Tabiize found him and stabbed him in the throat.
He begun bleeding and was first rushed to Hope Clinic in Buwenge Mpya but the doctors referred him to Kamuli hospital. He was pronounced dead on reaching Kamuli hospital due to heavy bleeding.
Samson Lubega, Busoga Regional Police spokesperson, says Lillian Tabiize has been arrested and detained at Kamuli police post pending police investigation.
She was saved from a mob that wanted to lynch her after the incident.
Once in custody, Lillian Tayibiza said she had been prompted to attack her boyfriend because he was a womanizer.
The station manager Muyima says the deceased's body has been transported to Kasambira village in Kamuli district.
