Stray Buffalo Injures Six in Kitgum

Six people in Kitgum are nursing injuries after they were attacked by a stray buffalo from Kidepo Valley national park in Kaabong district.

 

The six were attacked as they went about their various activities in Agoro Min Village in Orom Sub County on Monday. Two other bulls were intercepted on Thursday trailing a stray calf.

According to Kidega, the six were attacked by a stray calf that had fled two mating bulls from Kidepo National Park. He says two of the injured were referred to St. Joseph Hospital in Kitgum town from Orom Health center III.

Quirino Olum, the Orom Sub county chairperson, says the problem calf was killed by a combined force of Anti Stock theft Unit and regular Uganda Police Personnel.

Walter Odokorwot, the Kidepo National Park Community Conservation Warden, says the park will cater for the treatment of the injured.
