Police in Sembabule are holding a senior two student of Sembabule Church of Uganda secondary school after he was allegedly caught with stolen school beds.

16 year old Charles Mwebaze was arrested on Tuesday with 5 beds which he had hid in the bush neighboring the school. Police together with students mounted a search and reportedly found the stolen beds.

One of the students, John Bosco Tushabe says that Mwebaze has been pretending to be sick and rarely attends evening revision commonly known as preps. Police suspects that this is the time he might have used to remove the beds and hide them in the bush near the school and later sell them off. He adds that the school has lost over 15 beds so far.

This time round Mwebaze removed 5 beds belonging to senior four students who had gone to revise their books and when they came back they were bitter about him. Students headed by Patrick Bulyeshomozi mounted a search until they discovered them in the nearby bush.

The Sembabule District Police commander Abdallah Kitimbo says that Mwebaze has been selling off these beds to his fellow day students at 4000 each.
