Students Stopped From Attending Burial Over Primaries

Police on Tuesday stopped students and staff of Olila High School in Soroti from attending burial of a relative of a staff member over allegations of vote rigging.

Police in Soroti stop students and staff of Olila High School from attending burial, over NRM primaries. 

The students and staff were supposed to attend two burials, but were shocked when police stopped them from moving. 

The school head teacher, Solomon Okwakol said it was unfortunate they could not mourn with their member of staff and student.

East Kyoga police spokesperson, Juma Hassan Nyene said they had received reports that some NRM aspirants had registered students to vote for them.

Nyene also says the school administration did not explain well to police where they were going.
