Suspected drug addict kills Nine-year-old son in Domestic Brawl

Police in Ibanda District are holding a man on allegations of murdering his own son aged nine years after a domestic brawl with his wife.

Boaz Atukwase Tumwine, the Officer in Charge of Crime Investigations Department Kanyarugiri Police Station has identified the deceased as Aijuka and the suspect as Vanancio Bainomugisha, a resident of Nyabigoye 1 Cell in Nyamarebe Sub County.

Tumwine says that Bainomugisha who has been held on several occasions over the use and sell of Marijuana and domestic violence admitted to killing his son.

Godfrey Tabaaro Kanuuma, the chairperson LC1 Nyabigoye 1 says Bainomugisha is a known drug addict who has been abusing people and used to fight every time he smoked drugs.

He says Bainomugisha developed a misunderstanding with the wife and son over money they had sold from pan cakes.

He says Bainomugisha later picked a panga cut his son Aijuka on the neck and dumped the lifeless body near Bihanga Army Training school.

Godfrey Kanuuma says Beinomugisha separated with the mother of the deceased after developing misunderstandings, he married another woman who he has also been fou\nd of quarreling with and beating.

Tumwine says the suspect is currently in custody as investigations into the matter continue. 

 

This is the second murder in Ibanda district out of domestic violence with in one month.

Last week a woman identified as Edwin Nyawmiza, 24, a resident of Kanungu village Rugooba Parish in Ibanda district, killed her stepdaughter Immaculate Ainembabazi, 13, a primary 1 pupil at St. Mary’s Buhunga Primary school in Buhweju district.
