Suspected Thief Shot Dead at Midnight in NWSC Luwero Premises

The Manager of NWSC Luwero branch Ronald Kisakye says that the intruder claimed to be a staff from another branch but the guard questioned why he was picking pipes at night before he shot him.

A suspected thief has been shot dead at the offices of National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Luwero town.

The unidentified suspect was shot dead at midnight on Saturday night. 

It is alleged that the thief who came riding a bicycle broke into the perimeter wall of the NWSC offices and attempted to steal three-quarter-inch pipes.

However he run out of luck when the guard on duty identified attached at SWATT Security Limited who was alert shot him three times in the head killing him on spot.

Kisakye adds that last week , thieves also attempted to steal a generator from Wobulenzi NWSC offices but this was foiled by the guard.

"Six Months ago, thieves successfully stole a company motorcycle at Luwero NWSC offices, since then we have put the guards on high alert to foil any other theft ofour property," Kisakye said. 

Policemen from Luwero Central Police Station later picked the suspect's body from the scene and transferred it to the mortuary at Luwero hospital.

Luwero District Police Commander Living Twazagye confirmed the shooting to death of the suspected thief but said he was still waiting for a report.

URN reporter has learnt that the security guard has since recorded a statement at Luwero Central Police Station.
