Gideon Sanyu
Ntabose, the suspended Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party parliamentary
candidate in the recent elections for the Kasese Municipality MP race has quit the
party.
Ntabose who
is also the former Kasese District Vice Chairperson announced that he has
joined the National Resistance Movement Party-NRM. His defection
came after the FDC Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi issued a letter suspending
him for being behind strings of unexplained and
uncoordinated activities, in total disregard of the party position, both at
the local and national levels.
Ntabose
described FDC’s decision as a personal witch-hunt arguing that a number of
members including the FDC's vice-chairperson for Western Region William Nzoghu campaigned
for independent candidates contrary to the Party’s constitution.
He says these members have never been summoned to that effect.
//Cue in: “If their people…
Cue out: …to that effect.”//
Ntabose also
attributes his election loss in the concluded elections to party members who
openly de-campaigned him on grounds of being a non-Mukonzo, but he is surprised
that the party did not take action against them.
According to
Ntabose, his suspension has been orchestrated by some party members from
Kasese.
//Cue in” I lost elections of….
Cue out: …quitted it unconditionally.”//
Saulo Mate,
the Kasese FDC Party Chairperson says that the district party leadership will
abide by the decision of the Secretary-General.
