Thugs Rough Up Church Guard

Four armed thugs have broken into Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Katende village in Bugembe town council in Jinja district. The thugs are said to have raided the church on Monday evening.

Ben Okodel, a security guard attached to Group Four Security, says the armed thugs broke through the fence of the church and disarmed him. 

He says the thugs started beating him while demanding that he shows them the location of the safe.

The thugs emptied Okodel's fire arm pump action model number 88 l registration number Ug psomu80841 H05080 which had five bullets and took away the ammunition. 

The area Defense Secretary, Amuza Mohammad, says Okodel was rescued by neighbors who heard him making alarm for help. Bishop Steven Mukembo from the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church says they have been experiencing minor break-ins during day where they would lose items like computer cables, bibles and texts books.

He however, says this time the thugs made off with computers, a projector, satellite decoder, office phone and camera worth over Shillings 10 million. Sam Taremwa, the officer in charge of Bugembe Police Station, says they have commenced investigations into the matter.
