Three Arrested for Night Robberies in Apac

The trio was netted during an operation by the Rapid Response Unit in Lira. Their crime- theft of goats and sheep from the three districts.
 Three people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in night time robberies in Apac, Lira and Kole districts.

Henry Alyanga, the Central North Police Spokesperson has identified the suspects as Jimmy  Opio,  Patrick Eyen both residents of Ober Kampala in Lira town, and Patrick Aguma of Akutebwoli village, Inomo Sub County in Apac district.

The trio was netted during an operation by the Rapid Response Unit in Lira. Their crime- theft of goats and sheep from the three districts.

Alyanga said the trio is believed to have stolen more than 800 goats and sheep over the past three months. He says that they have been ferrying the stolen animals in a hired car registration number UAB128L.

Lira district police commander Robert Ssemmata says the suspects will be transferred to Apac Central Police Station pending charges.

Police are also investigating reports that the suspects have been staging several night time robberies using a gun.
