Three Critically Injured In Gulu - Kampala Road Accident

Three people critically injured in a road accident are receiving treatment at Gulu regional referral and teaching hospital.
Three people are receiving treatment at Gulu regional referral and teaching hospital following a nasty accident this evening. 

The accident happened along Gulu Kampala Highway at Barogal village in Koro sub county, Omoro district. The trio was traveling on a boda boda motorcycle registration number UDC 529K.

They were knocked by a pick-up truck registration number UAN 771N belonging to Chongqing International Construction Company (CHICCO), a Chinese firm upgrading roads in and around Gulu.

Wilson Mawa, the driver of the pick-up truck has been detained by police to help in investigation.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Police Spokesperson identified the injured as the cyclist Jimmy Amone and two passengers Martin Ocen and Lucy Akech.

Okema says they were in critical condition as they were taken to Gulu hospital while the vehicles have been towed to nearby Bobi police station where the driver is also being held.

According to the police report, most road accidents in Aswa River region have been caused by recklessness of boda boda cyclists.
