The driver of the Fuso truck identified as Aggrey Muzaya, the turn boy and a woman suspected to be the owner of cargo died on the spot. The injured people include the driver of the trailer identified Amis Baheza and his turnboy Salim Tenywa and two women-only identified as Monica and Tunamuhikire.
Three
people have died on the spot and
four others injured in an accident that occurred at Nkoni trading centre along the Masaka-Mbarara Highway. The accident involved a trailer registration number RAE 836A and a Fuso truck Registration number UBG 720L.
According to eyewitnesses, the trailer lost control and rammed into the Fuso truck which was heading to Kampala from Mbarara. The trailer was heading to Rwanda.

Andrew Kamugisha, one of the eyewitnesses says some of the locals
who arrived at the spot carried away some of the bananas from the truck.
The
Southern regional police spokesperson Muhamad Nsubuga confirmed the
incident saying that police has not yet identified the bodies
since these people did not have their identification documents adding
that police
has taken the bodies to Masaka hospital for postmortem.

He warned truck drivers against driving long journeys
without resting because they risk making mistakes on the road because they are too
tired. Meanwhile, another accident occurred at Nkoni trading centre
near a community market involving two motorcycles claimed another life of a motorcyclist leaving two people injured.
