Three Nominated for Ibanda Municipality MP Seat

Those nominated include Tarsis Rwaburindore of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party , Robert Kiromba an independent candidate who opted for a radio as his Symbol. Kiromba is the chairperson of Ibanda District Farmers Association. The other candidate is Alex Byarugaba of the forum for Democratic change.

Three candidates have been nominated to contest for the Ibanda Municipality Parliamentary Seat.

Those nominated   include Tarsis Rwaburindore of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party, Robert Kiromba an independent candidate and Alex Byarugaba of the forum for Democratic change-FDC party. 

They were declared dully nominated by Tolbert Musinguzi, the Ibanda district returning officer, during the exercise on Wednesday at Ibanda Municipality headquarters.

Musinguzi assured the candidates of the Electoral Commission's commitment to observe zero tolerance on rigging and violence during the elections.

Ibanda municipality became operational in late 2016 alongside the municipalities of Buikwe, Nebbi, Kotido Sheema, Apac, and Bugiri.

The elections in the seven new municipalities will be held on July 19th 2018. According to the electoral commission, the elections will cost 6 billion shillings.

The elections will see Members of Parliament, Mayors, division chairpersons and Local council IV representatives elected for the respective municipalities.
