Abudullah Mukisa, a resident says there is security laxity in the area.

“The youth who commit such crimes live within this community but local leaders and police alike have failed to reign in on the situation living the community to bear the consequences,” he said.

Adding that, “Every time our colleagues are attacked, police authorities promise to restore sanity in this place but nothing is done thereafter.”

Abbey Ngako, the Kiira Region Police Spokesperson, says a team of detectives is investigating the matter.

He decries the high crime rates in Bugembe, saying police will intensify night patrols to restore sanity in the area.
