Tight Security As polling Materials are Distributed in Hoima

The materials were distributed in the 266 polling stations in the 69 parishes of Hoima district. There are 143,273 registered voters in Hoima district.

The distribution of polling materials for the Hoima Woman MP by-election kicked off on Thursday morning amidst tight security.   
Distribution of the materials kicked off at 5 am at the electoral commission offices in Kijungu Kahoora division Hoima municipality. It was conducted by electoral commission staff accompanied by the police.

The materials were distributed in the 266 polling stations in the 69 parishes of Hoima district.

There are 143,273 registered voters in Hoima district.

The seat fell vacant after Tophace Kaahwa Byagira, the former Woman MP opted to represent the people of the newly Kikuube district that was carved out of Hoima and became operational on July 1, 2018.

 Two candidates are vying for the position in the hotly contested by-election. They are Harriet Mugenyi Businge, the NRM Flagbearer and Asinansi Nyakato of the Forum for democratic change.
