Truck Kills Four in Namisindwa

The Elgon region police spokesperson, RogersTaitika says that the four were on a Boda Boda motorcycle number UGC 342R from Manafwa district heading to Lwakhakha border the side. He says that the truck was from Kenya heading to Manafwa district side when it rammed into the motorcycle.

Four people have been knocked dead in Namisindwa District. They were knocked by a truck registration number KDB 124E Scania belonging to Greenline Company Limited in Kenya.

According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, the deceased are Derrick Masika, Suzan Watsemwa, Beatrice Nabalayo and an unidentified person all residents of Namisindwa district.

The accident occurred on Thursday in Lwakhakha at the Uganda-Kenya border, Lwakhakha town council along Mbale Lwakhakha highway.

Taitika says that the four were on a Boda Boda motorcycle number UGC 342R from Manafwa district side heading to Lwakhakha border the side.  He says that the truck was from Kenya heading to Manafwa district side when it rammed into the motorcycle.

Taitika attributed the accident to overspeeding and reckless driving by the driver of the truck.

The truck was impounded and towed to Lwakhakha police station.
