It is alleged that the suspects together with others still at large waylaid Sunday as he was heading home from Mburara trading center at around 10 pm on Sunday night last week and stabbed him severally with a knife killing him on the spot for unknown reasons.
Kikuube police are holding suspects for allegedly stabbing a man to death. The
deceased has been identified as Charles Sunday 58, a resident of Mburara village
in Butoole Parish in Kyangwali sub-county while the suspects are Obed Mbalaga and Gertrude Kabugo, both residents of the same area.
It
is alleged that the suspects together with others still at large waylaid Sunday as he was heading home from Mburara trading center at around 10 pm on Sunday night last week and stabbed him severally with a knife
killing him on the spot for unknown reasons.
They later dumped his lifeless by the roadside and varnished from the village. Alex
Twinomujuni, a resident told Uganda Radio Network that on a
fateful night, they heard the deceased screaming for help and rushed to see
what had happened to him only to find him lying dead in a pool of blood by the
roadside.
They immediately alerted the police. Julius
Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says after committing the
crime, the suspects fled the area. He says since then police has been hunting
for the suspects and managed to arrest the two on Friday.
They were immediately
whisked to Kikuube central police station where they are still in custody on murder charges as the hunt for others is ongoing. According
to Hakiza, the suspects are cooperating well with the police.
