Two Arrested Over Mob Justice

Police at Bigasa in Bukomansimbi district has arrested two people in connection with killing of a 64 year old man.

The suspects have been identified as Edward Kakooza 35, and Paul Bujje 25, all residents of Mijunwa, village, Bigasa Sub County in Bukomansimbi district.

 

The duo was picked up by Police detectives from their hide out in Mijunwa for their alleged involvement in the killing of 64 year old Donozio Kalimunda Ssalongo.

 

It is alleged that the men led the mob that attacked and hacked to death Kalimunda. They accused him of bewitching three of his relatives who later died.

 

The southern region police spokesperson Noah Sserunjoji says that a hunt for the people that involved in killing Kalimunda is still ongoing.

 

  He says that when investigations are completed the duo will be charged with murder.

 

Bigasa sub county chairperson Joseph Kakooza Kimbetu has welcomed the arrest of the suspects and asked police to intensify investigations and hunt for people that took the law into their hands and killed Kalimunda.
