Two Brothers Wanted for Malicious Damage to Family Property

Two brothers have been summoned by Ntungamo Central Police Station to respond to charges of malicious damage to property.

Maj. Ian Kangaho, attached to Special Forces Guard and Andrew Kangaho, a security officer attached to Posta Uganda, are accused of hiring mercenaries to raze a banana plantation owned by their brother, Superintendent of police Ian Kakuru Makosa, the outgoing Mbarara CID Chief.

The incident, at Omungyenyi village in Rubare town council, Ntungamo district, involved children and grandchildren of Late James Arthur Kangaho, a former Constituent delegate for Rushenyi and Ruhama counties.

The fight over the 120-hectare piece of land started shortly after Kangaho\'s death in March 2014. Kangaho inherited the land from his father Maj. Cheff Makosa. It reached its peak last week on Friday when family members destroyed the plantation.

Kakuru says he is witch hunted by his own family members whom blocked from accessing letters of administration and the land title on ground that their late grandfather, Maj. Cheff Makosa, the initial owner of the land in question, had not made a will instituting a customary heir.

Early this year Kakuru opened up three cases of inter meddling in the late\'s grandfather\'s estates, obtaining registration of land title in a fraudulent manner and threatening Violence against two of his uncles Maj. Ian Kangaho and Andrew Kangaho.

Bosco Gume Ssalongo, the head of criminal investigations in Ntungamo district says police has summoned some of the family members to respond to the queries raised against them.
