Two Charged with Murder for Killing Police Informer

Police in Amuru have arrested and charged two suspects for allegedly murdering one Geoffrey Apuke, a resident of Rec ki ceke village, Pailyech Parish Amuru Sub County in Amuru district.

Apuke, who has been a police informer was reportedly murdered in the 26th of January this year at around 10 PM at his residence in Rec ki ceke village by a group of people led by Richard Okello, alias Ocuc and Johnson Oryema all residents of the area.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa region Police Spokesperson says the two suspects who are also relatives to the deceased beat him to death for reporting them to the Police following a land dispute in 2019.

According to Okema, the two have been charged with murder and their charges.

Okema has warned the public against bragging to the community of their ability to inform the police saying it exposes one and increases the risk of attacks by the wrong elements one is reporting about.
