The Chairperson local council one Saluti B in Kasese Municipality, Janet Mbambu has identified the victims as Catherine Kabugho aged 10-years and Caroline Mbambu aged 8 years.
Police in Kasese District are
investigating circumstances under which two children have died after eating
suspected poisoned food.
The two died Friday after being admitted at St.
Mary’s Hospital in Kasese Town.

She said that according to information obtained by
her office, the victims were given chapatti’s by their step-father, a popular herbalist,
Hajji Abdu Kasita and hour’s later they reported abdomen upsets and were
rushed to hospital.
Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Police
spokesperson says they are putting together details to establish facts surrounding the death.
By this afternoon bodies were still lying at Kasese Municipal HCIII.
