Two children have died due to suspected food poisoning. The deceased have been identified as Jeremiah Bogere 18 months and his four-year-old brother, Jovan Wanjala, all residents of Buwaga village, Bulange Sub County.

They were taken to Nsinze health center IV before being referred to Iganga general hospital.

Beatrice Nabirye, the deceased's mother says that she served food to the family but all of them developed a stomach ache and collapsed.

"I served my family well but when all of us had finished eating, we felt stomach aches and my husband and kids collapsed thereafter. I tried to seek for help but we failed to save the children," she says.

She adds that "I cook from outside and I highly suspect that an evil-minded person might have intentionally poisoned us,”

The Busoga East Police Spokesperson, James Mubi says that a team of detectives has been dispatched at the crime scene and samples of the food will be taken to the government laboratory for investigations.
