Two Held Over Death Of Boda Boda Rider

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says the suspects whose identities have been withheld are wanted in connection to the killing of Wilson Baguma, a boda boda motorcyclist in Mbefu Sub County in Kagadi district.
Kyegegwa police are holding two people accused of killing a boda boda motorcyclist and robbing his motorbike. 

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says the suspects whose identities have been withheld are wanted in connection to the killing of Wilson Baguma, a boda boda motorcyclist in Mbefu Sub County in Kagadi district.

 

Baguma was reported missing on Wednesday night only to be found dead on Thursday at 7:30pm. His Bajaj Boxer motorcycle registration number UAN 149C was not found the scene of crime. Hakiza says they sent out messages, which led to the arrest of the two suspects in Kyegegwa district.

 

 

He says they are waiting for Baguma's employer to identify the motorbike, which was found with the suspects before the suspects are charged with murder, adding that the suspects are being held at Kagadi Police Station under CRB 1016/2016.

 

 

The bi-annual crimes report released recently by police in the Albertine Region puts robberies at 154 cases between January and June this year. According to the report, the robbers target new motorcycles.
