Police has identified the deceased as Solomon Mulemeti, aged 25-years who was riding the motorcycle and Meshaka Onyonyi, aged 22-years, all local artists and residents of Bumungomu village Nabisike sub county in Namisindwa District.
Two musicians from Namisindwa district have perished
and two others hospitalized in critical condition after a nasty accident in
Mbale City on Wednesday.
The accident involving a trailer Reg. no KBH 957C/ DZ 3264, white
in color driven by one Mahad Mohamed Ahmed, a Kenyan national knocked a motorcycle
that was carrying the four musicians.
The accident occurred on Wednesday evening along Mbale Tororo
road in Nauyo trading center in Mbale city.
Police has identified the deceased as Solomon Mulemeti, aged
25-years who was riding the motorcycle and Meshaka Onyonyi, aged 22-years, all local artists
and residents of Bumungomu village Nabisike sub county in Namisindwa District. The two others hospitalized at Mbale Regional Referral
Hospital include; Brian Meshaka, aged 20-years and Wycliff Kishaka, aged 24-years also
residents of the same village.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson
confirmed the accident saying that the trailer was over speeding. He said
that traffic police is still investigating the cause of the accident
noting that the driver of the truck has been arrested.

The trailer that caused the accident is currently parked at Mbale
Central Police Station while the bodies of the deceased are at Mbale City
Mortury pending postmortem.
