The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika says the police station where the remaining police officers and the District police Commander are quarantined is undergoing disinfection.
Two police officers at Manafwa Central Police Station in Manafwa District have tested positive for Covid19. The officers have been evacuated to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

They are among 28 police officers and 6 suspects whose samples were picked on Monday after one of the suspects in the cells at Manafwa Central Police Station tested positive for Covid19 prompting the authorities to temporarily close the station.

The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika says the police station where the remaining police officers and the District police Commander are quarantined is undergoing disinfection.

Over 30 Police Officers at Mbale Central Police Station said to have been in contact with the suspect will also undergo mandatory testing on Wednesday.

Lillian Nakawesi, the Mbale Deputy Resident District Commissioner, says there is need to test the officers since they came into contact with the suspect before he was transferred to Manafwa CPS where he was wanted.
