On Thursday evening, a group of locals led by the deceased’s relatives traced Byaruhanga and Saturday and found them hiding in a bush. The duo was beaten using clubs but was dispersed by the police under the command of Henry Kisembo, the acting Kabale District Police Commander.

The suspects who were heavily bleeding with wounds, unable to stand and talk due to the beatings were rescued and taken to Kabale Hospital where they are admitted. Kisembo warned locals against such acts of revenge saying that they are against the law.

Moses Turinawe, one of the angry locals told our reporter that their aim that police thwarted was to kill the suspects as a warning to other criminal elements in the area
