The police in Kibaale are hunting for two suspects accused of mob justice
and murder.
The suspects have been identified as Matia Byamukama and
Nicholas, both residents of Kyeguruma village, Kirasa parish in Kyebando sub-county. They are accused of attacking, hacking and murdering Julius Kiiza, 23, a
resident of the same area who was severely hacked on the head, face, neck and back.
It is alleged that the duo led a mob that attacked, hacked and killed Kiiza, accusing him of having stolen a motorcycle. The incident happened on Tuesday at 9 p.m. After the murder of Kiiza, the mob dumped his body in a
nearby bush.
Joseph Alinda, a resident, explains that the two suspects led a mob that killed Kiiza, suspecting him of stealing a motorcycle belonging to Robert Byamukama, a resident of the same area.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says the hunt for the suspects is ongoing.
Hakiza has appealed to members of the public to cooperate
with security by providing crucial information that could lead to the arrest and
detention of the suspects.

The suspects, together with more than 300 other residents, raided the home of William Katwesige of the same area, demolished his house
and set it ablaze. They also destroyed his banana plantation and looted several
items.
The mob accused Katwesige of being behind the murder of
Linus Mugisa, 24, a resident of the same area who went missing.
