UACE Results: Wakiso, Kampala Remain Best Districts

According to the 2018 UACE performance distribution by district released by the UNEB Executive Secretary, Dan Nokrach Odongo, Wakiso district tops the performance list with 9,193 candidates who got three principal passes.

Wakiso has remained the best-ranked district in the 2018 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams.

According to the 2018 UACE performance distribution by district released by the UNEB Executive Secretary, Dan Nokrach Odongo, Wakiso district tops the performance list with 9,193 candidates who got three principal passes.

The district was in 2017 also ranked the best with 8,538 candidates who got three principal passes.

Wakiso in the 2018 results is followed by Kampala district with 5,400 candidates who have passed with three principal passes and Mukono district with 3,473 candidates. These are followed by Luweero district with 1,015 candidates while Mbarara and Jinja have 892 and 883 candidates with three principal passes.

However, UNEB lists Amudat, Buvuma, Katakwi, Omoro, Pakwach as districts with less than 5 candidates with three principal passes.

A total of 99,576 candidates registered for the 2018 UACE examination from 2,094 centres compared to 101,269 candidates in 2017 from 1,918 centres. 

However, only 98,524 candidates appeared for the examinations. Statistics released by UNEB indicate that more students have qualified for University and other tertiary admission. 

History, Economic, Entrepreneurship Education, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Art were better performed last year compared to 2017.

There was a decline in performance of Christian Religious Education, Literature in English, Agriculture and Biology.
